Spicemas 2027 runs on Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 August, and our Grenada Glam Hub Lite is hosted at the Radisson Hotel, central in Grenada, with the band route starting outside the hotel. You glam and step straight onto the road. Sweat-resistant makeup and a photoshoot by our trained Caribbean carnival artists, with dressing assistance, a changing room, wing and bag check while you are with us space permitting, and snacks, coffee, tea and light refreshments. Pre-registration is open at US$50 per masquerader.

Grenada Carnival pre-registration
Pre-registration is open at US$50 per masquerader and closes on 31 December 2026. It secures your spot for Spicemas 2027 at our Glam Hub for Monday 9 & Tuesday 10 August 2027. Pre-registration is not a full booking and no service is included. No makeup, hair or photoshoot price is published for this season yet, and service prices are confirmed when the product list goes live.

Every masquerader here had makeup and a photoshoot with Carnival Glam Hub at Spicemas.
Before the feathers, there is Jab
Grenada's Carnival does not start with gems. It starts at four in the morning on the Carenage, in the dark, when a conch shell goes and the street fills with people covered head to toe in black oil.
The word comes from patois. Diable. Devil. Enslaved Africans took the imagery the church used to frighten them and threw it back as satire, blackening themselves on purpose, turning chains of captivity into a symbol of freedom.
It is not a costume. It is a two-hundred-year-old protest that people still walk every August.
Dania, Emma and Jamie Lee had played a lot of mas before Grenada. They had not played this.
